This is the front edge of the coaming recess and riser.  I'm wondering how I should cover the slight gaps that are present here and there around the riser-to-recess mating area.

Here's the back edge of the coaming riser / recess.

The coaming recess lowered to top edge of the coaming riser about 3/8".  I had hoped for more, but the small decrease in riser height was due to the small offset of the recess (2"), as well as the flat nature of the back deck of the Cape Ann Storm.  To recess it the full 3/4", I would have had to lengthen the recess to 4 or 5" behind the current cockpit opening.
