Here is my very first Greenland paddle.  I laminated two furniture-grade 1x4s together to make a stable 2x4, laid out lines to define the curves, and carved away with a plane until the final shape emerged.  Next step is to epoxy/fiberglass the tips and coat with tung oil.  I got my instructions on how to do it from Quajaqusa.com  Additionally, Matt Johnson sent me a CD of a video that he made outlining the steps.  It was a huge help, and can be found at http://www.carvegp.com/

 

Here is my dry test-fit of the deck to hull.  It fits with only slight modification needed at the bow and stern tips.  I'm going to join them permanently this weekend.  They look a bit rough with all the dust and sanding marks all over..

 

Here's a peek at my thigh braces and coaming rim.  It'll sure look a lot nicer once the final coats of epoxy and varnish are added.
