Here's my new paddle.  The blades are Nick Schade's design, but the blades are lap jointed to the shaft instead of attached to the sides of the shaft.  The blades curve 3/4" over their 19" length.  The shaft is oval, 1.25"x1.5".  The construction is solid white pine with red oak accents.

Here, you can see how I attached the blade.  The darker brown around where the shaft and blade meet is "dookie-schmutz", West Systems epoxy thickener filleted to smooth the transition.

I've also been working on a few Maroske fittings.  It was strange drilling 32 3/8" diameter holes in my otherwise seaworthy kayak.
